On April 15, 1917, The British passenger ship RMS Titanic sank to the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean. There were approximately 2,224 passengers and crew members aboard. Titanic only had enough life boats to fit 1,178 passengers. 
 
At 11:40 pm (ships time) Titanic struck an iceberg on her starboard side and opened five of her sixteen watertight compartments, the ship soon began filling with water. At 2:20 am Titanic broke apart. The Titanic sank 2 hours and 40 minutes later after it hit the iceberg. It is known as one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters.
 
The film poster shows a man and a woman hugging over a picture of the Titanic's bow. In the background is a partly cloudy sky and at the top are the names of the two lead actors. The middle has the film's name and tagline, and the bottom contains a list of the director's previous works, as well as the film's credits, rating, and release date.After Titanic major improvements in maritime safety were implemented. Also several new wireless regulations were put into works, to learn from the many missteps in wireless connections.
 
In 1997, They released the movie Titanic; staring Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kate Winslet. About a love story that took place on the ship between,
 a rich girl and a poor boy.
